CREATING WITH INTENTION

MY STORY:

I have led a life full of variety with family, career, art and contemplative spiritual practice. For more than three decades my experiences included leadership roles in business and higher education, lifelong practice as a visual artist, contemplative spiritual practice, and a decade as an executive coach and a workshop leader in art and business. I understand firsthand the power of working with a coach to sift the many options that may be present when challenges and changes arise.

As a leadership coach for more than a decade, I worked with senior level managers in business to help them with improved communication, encouraging effective and successful teams, transitioning to new opportunities, balancing work and life and leading with authentic personal presence.

As a lifelong artist and creative, I love working with watercolor, oil and mixed media and teaching others to enjoy the craft of painting and playing with art materials. My business career and my faith practice have been enriched by my art and I found that involvement with playing with paints, continuous learning and creativity feed the soul in ways that are deep and meaningful.

In all things, I have always been informed and inspired by a deep spiritual contemplative life of faith, rich and inclusive in every way.

To prepare for a new chapter, I took a ‘gap year’ from full-time coaching in 2024 to redirect my efforts in ways that incorporate all of the pieces that are important to me at this stage of life - faith, art, community, creativity, relationships - in this new approach to coaching and community creation. I have been active in painting and creating in my home studio during this time, exhibiting work in a gallery, leading creative painting workshops and ‘Joyful Gathering’ workshops and encouraging involvement in the robust arts community that is so prevalent on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

As I shift my focus now, I am excited to work with artists who want to experience all that life has for them as they design their future next steps.

Life and art are closely intertwined for those of us who are drawn to the magic of curiosity and creativity.

As an artist, I know how easily we can become stuck - mired in ‘what'-ifs’ and ‘why bothers’. Over the course of more than 30 years as an artist, for many years juggling career, motherhood and painting, I can relate.

For many years, as a professionally certified coach working with executives, I helped people shape their desires, own their behavior, improve their communication skills and intentionally change in new and exciting directions.

These skills translate to creatives and artists working to define how they can name what their art practice means to their life, how to balance their desires with demands, and how they might create with joyful presence, speaking with their own voice through artistic practice.

If the desire is to create a business through art, the skills of developing a plan, determining a vision, identifying real numbers behind that plan and vision and determining next steps to move forward.
